Deconstruct/Reconstruct – Week 13

scan_96656118_2019-01-07-10-55-09_2The second week of Deconstruct/Reconstruct mainly consisted of developing all the workshop work from the week before. Throughout the developmental process I tried to keep in mind that I needed a range of media and to show extraction of shapes. I am really happy with how my first initial sketches turned out as it was then easy to find shapes to expand more ideas from.

On Thursdays session we were shown how to visually collect successful development work to form a design development board that could influence a final collection. Since the task was to create 2 development boards, I decided to focus one on textiles patterns and the other on silhouette. I think my development boards have a clear colour scheme, however next time I should scan all my images in and play around with it on Photoshop as  it would be easier to manoeuver then having lots of loose images that move around too easily.

From these boards I created a final line up consisting of 6 designs. I believe all the pieces work well together to form a collection due to the colour scheme as well as the similarity in silhouette because even though every design is different, the flow of the garments is very free and non constrictive. During the critical assessment feedback I was advised to alter my croquis heads as they were originally empty, which lacked personality. due to this feedback I revisited my illustration project and developed a face for my croquis that I was happy with.
