To start the week off there were more workshops. One focusing on sportswear contour and another on fabric manipulation experimentation. The contouring was a new workshop 1 had not taken part in before therefore I was looking forward to being taught new ways to develop existing research. Initially this was useful however I soon ran out of ideas as to what to types of sports clothes to outline. This may have been due to lack of research or the basic silhouettes of sportswear. So if I was to use contouring again to develop work I would make sure I had enough research with a of variety in shape to gain a vast amount of outcomes. the other workshop consisted of using calico to create surface techniques e.g. pleating, I also learnt that in addition to being aesthetically pleasing these techniques could also be functional: having a fabric section that can be pulled to form a gather but also expose skin to cool down.
Mid week consisted of continuation of development as well as a small technical drawing workshop giving a more detailed introduction to what they are and why the are important. This also gave me more insight into how a technical drawing should look and what my role as a fashion designer would be to pass down correct information to the manufacture in order to create the right design. I learnt details such as zips, pockets and even stitch size must be included to result in the best outcome.
